During Erika Brannock's long recovery from the loss of a leg and other injuries in the terrorist bombing at the 2013 Boston Marathon, she wondered how she would explain to her preschool students what had happened in a way they would understand.  Tapping into her lifelong love of dragonflies, Erika wrote this delightlful story of how a young dragonfly, NEM, is injured in a storm, and has to get a prosthetic wing.  NEM, as was the case with Erika, was worried how her friends would react to her now that she was "different."   Among the many lovely messages in "The Journey of NEM" is that we are all different in our own ways, and that's something we should celebrate.
